ABOUT THE ROLE

You are responsible for building, maintaining, and operationalising Aspire’s operational risk management framework across all functions. Operational risk at Aspire includes operational resilience, operational quality, change management, cybersecurity, data protection, vendor management, and internal fraud.

  1. Design and implement robust systems and processes to ensure that operational risk management scales effectively with Aspire’s evolving needs
  2. Build the operational risk strategy and coordinate its execution
  3. Perform gap analysis on operational processes and controls, and remediate gaps
  4. Maintain repository of SOPs and ensure all are maintained by the owners
  5. Ensure operational risks are correctly identified across the company, across all functions and geographies
  6. Ensure Aspire evaluates risks, their impact, and controls correctly
  7. Identify operational controls in place and test their effectiveness
  8. Prepare and present comprehensive operational risk reports to the leadership, highlighting risk factors and areas for improvement to support strategic decision-making at group and country levels
  9. Track operational risk incident rates, suggest and lead prevention strategies
  10. Work closely with 1LoD leaders (Customer Experience, FinCrime, Payments, Onboarding, etc.) and 2LoD leaders to ensure risk policies are properly implemented and managed under the 1LoD
  11. Lead the operational risk committee

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have done it before - 5+ years experience in risk-related fields & fintech. You understand all aspects of financial services, including payments, financial crime, customer operations
  • You can build a strategy and execute it - You can design a strategy, turn it into an action plan, and execute it hands-on & without supervision, rallying other leaders to your cause
  • You have strong communication & project management skills - You are used to communicating with senior executives and on-the-ground teams. Your communication is clear, structured, and concise. You know how to project manage large projects with dependencies
