Job summary

WD is seeking a Commodity Manager to shape our global supply base through strategic sourcing, supplier leadership, and cost management. You will develop category strategies, secure contracts, and unlock supplier-enabled innovation to deliver measurable savings and mitigate risk.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and R&D to drive design-to-cost initiatives, manage supplier relationships at executive levels, and lead cross-functional efforts across geographies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in sourcing, procurement, or supplier management.
• Experience with supplier negotiations and global strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain global commodity strategies and sourcing roadmaps.
• Lead supplier selection, RFI/RFP/RFQ, and negotiations for LTAs.
• Drive supplier segmentation, QBRs, and corrective action plans.
• Deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and productivity targets.
• Identify and mitigate risks across capacity, supply continuity, and compliance.

Job Description

The Commodity Manager shapes the company’s global supply base through strategic sourcing, supplier leadership, and cost management. This role develops category strategies, secures contracts, and unlocks supplier-enabled innovation to deliver measurable savings and mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain global commodity strategies and sourcing roadmaps.
• Lead supplier selection, RFI/RFP/RFQ, and negotiations for LTAs.
• Drive supplier segmentation, QBRs, and corrective action plans.
• Deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and productivity targets.
• Identify and mitigate risks across capacity, supply continuity, and compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Ops, and R&D for innovation and design-to-cost.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in sourcing, procurement, or supplier management.
• Experience with supplier negotiations and global strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or advanced degree.
• CPSM/CIPS or equivalent certification.
