Job summary

JOB EXPRESS SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a hands-on Purchase Engineer (ID6145) to manage supplier sourcing and cost-focused procurement for mechanical parts, raw materials, and components.

You will read technical drawings, review quotations, negotiate terms, and collaborate with Engineering, Sales, R&D, Production and QA to drive cost reduction. Based in Pioneer, the role supports ERP/MRP systems (SAP MM or Oracle) and requires maintaining accurate purchasing records.

Qualifications

• Experience in engineering procurement or purchasing roles.
• Familiarity with BOMs and CAD drawings is beneficial.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, R&D, Production and QA.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for mechanical parts, raw materials, electrical components, castings and other engineering materials.
• Review supplier quotations and perform cost analysis to support pricing and cost reduction.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQ, lead time and payment terms with suppliers.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models and BOM for project costing.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, R&D, Production and QA on costing, supplier performance and improvement projects.
• Develop alternative/backup suppliers to minimise supply risks.
• Maintain purchasing records using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP MM or Oracle.
