Strategic Procurement Engineer — Global Sourcing & Cost Control

Job summary

Sulzer in Singapore seeks a Procurement Engineer to manage end-to-end purchasing for EPC projects. You will source suppliers, evaluate quotations, negotiate terms and issue purchase orders while ensuring compliance with project requirements.

You will collaborate with Engineering and Project teams to optimize total cost of ownership, manage long lead items, and support supplier onboarding and audits in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-8 years procurement experience within EPC, Oil & Gas, Process Equipment, Chemical, Energy, or Industrial projects.
• Experience sourcing Key packages such as Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Pumps, Compressors, Fabricated Skids, E&I.
• Exposure to engineering or technical procurement is an advantage.
• Can communicate in English. Mandarin is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Incoterms, contract management, and commercial negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Develop Procurement Plans for assigned projects.
• Manage long lead items and critical sourcing packages.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings.
• Support risk mitigation for supply chain constraints.
• Process requisitions into RFQs and Purchase Orders.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations based on price, delivery, terms, and specs.
• Perform commercial negotiations aligning to Sulzer Terms and Conditions.
• Lead supplier coordination and audits with Quality and Engineering teams.
• Evaluate suppliers based on total cost of ownership, capability, capacity, and performance.
• Coordinate supplier onboarding and vendor management activities.
