Job summary

SICK Sensor Intelligence in Singapore is seeking a Project Sourcing Engineer to lead and manage sourcing across NPI, transfer, and sustaining programs. You will collaborate with R&D, Operations, Quality, and Global Procurement to drive supplier partnerships, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity.

The role involves strategic and tactical procurement, ensuring material availability, and alignment with product roadmaps. Strong experience in SAP and advanced Excel is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within R&D/manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience in project sourcing and program management.
• Strong ability to interpret technical documents (drawings, BOM, schematics, specifications).
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing processes (mechanical, electrical & electronics).
• Experience with SAP or ERP/MRP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Negotiation and commercial acumen.
• Risk management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Early involvement in product development and design-to-cost initiatives with global procurement collaboration.
• Drive procurement initiatives to achieve cost targets, ensure supply capability, and minimize risk in NPI and ongoing programs.
• Serve as primary procurement interface for new projects and transfer programs until first production readiness.
• Provide technical sourcing support to R&D to meet CoGS targets and identify new suppliers/materials.
• Use the Project Sourcing tool in the PLM system and ensure timely material release.
• Ensure SAP/ERP data integrity and procurement process compliance.
• Act as escalation point for material shortages and supply disruptions in NPI projects.
