Job summary

Public Service Division is seeking a researcher to join the Environmental Health Institute in Singapore. The role focuses on vector-pathogen interactions and translating findings into policy and surveillance enhancements.

You will lead research projects, develop new capabilities, and collaborate with local and international partners while mentoring junior researchers and disseminating results to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Medical Entomology, Vector Biology or a related discipline, with relevant research experience in vector-pathogen interaction research
• Demonstrated ability to independently develop and lead research projects, from design to data interpretation and dissemination
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate findings to public health applications
• Able to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams, with effective scientific writing and communication

Responsibilities

• Lead research projects from design to publication
• Advance vector competence and transmission research
• Assess emerging vector-borne disease threats and support risk assessment
• Translate findings into public health impact and surveillance improvements
• Develop new methods and capabilities in the Branch
• Provide scientific leadership and mentorship
• Publish in peer-reviewed journals and communicate findings to stakeholders
