Job description
Location: Ang Mo Kio
Working hours: Mon-Fri/ 9-6pm
Main Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and execute a robust regional strategy for the logistics / transportation category, aligning it with overall business objectives.
Support and drive regional growth of business units by ensuring the category strategy adapts to diverse market needs.
Tender and Rate Management: Conducting and managing tenders, negotiating, and monitoring freight rates.
Implement cost reduction programs and efficiency initiatives to enhance overall performance and ensure the transportation rate complies with market level.
Supplier Management: Selecting, evaluating, and developing supplier relationships to ensure optimal performance and cost.
Continuously optimize the supplier portfolio and implement strategies to mitigate risks within the logistics / transportation sectors. Build and manage strong relationships with suppliers, drive initiatives, lead negotiations, and oversee sourcing processes. Act as the primary escalation point when issues arise.
Contract Management: Creating, negotiating, and managing contracts with logistics and transportation service providers.
Advising Business Units and Stakeholders: Supporting and consulting internal business units and stakeholders on logistics and freight solutions.
Reporting and Performance Measurement: Preparing reports and analyses for performance measurement and continuous improvement of logistics processes.
Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration.
Application of Transport-Specific Tools: Utilizing transport-specific tools for the procurement of freight rates.
Continuous Development and Optimization: Supporting the continuous development and optimization of applications and Heraeus logistics and transportation setup.
Working closely across teams with regional sites as well as corporate functions.
Soft skills: Strong service attitude, Self-motivation, Implementation strength.
General Procurement: Source, review, and negotiate contracts for Regional Centre and Singapore companies (HR recruitment, Mobile Plan, Hotel Corporate Rates, Office/Pantry Supplies).
Requirements:
Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, ideally in logistics and transportation or forwarding industry.
Strong negotiation, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
Proficient in SAP S/4 Hana and Excel.
Experience in reporting and performance measurement.
Ability to collaborate with various business units and stakeholders in a complex portfolio company.
