Job Overview:

The Storekeeper is responsible for the daily management of goods within the company’s warehouse or store. This includes receiving, storing, issuing, and recording inventory items, ensuring proper housekeeping, and supporting project or service teams with timely provision of materials. The role is critical in maintaining stock accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Stock Receiving and Issuance:

  • Receive and inspect incoming goods for quantity, quality, and specification.
  • Record all stock movements (in and out) accurately in the stock register or system.
  • Issue items to technicians, project teams, or delivery personnel according to approved requests or job requirements.

2. Store Organization and Maintenance:

  • Organize and maintain the store area in a clean, safe, and accessible manner.
  • Label and store items in proper storage locations to ensure easy retrieval.
  • Conduct regular housekeeping to ensure compliance with safety and company standards.

3. Stock Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor daily stock levels and report low stock or fast-moving items to the Inventory Controller.
  • Participate in regular stock counts and assist in resolving stock discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and filing of delivery orders, material request forms, and inventory logs.

4. Support for Operations and Logistics:

  • Prepare and pack goods for outgoing deliveries or dispatch to site.
  • Assist with loading/unloading of goods and ensure materials are handled with care.
  • Liaise with internal departments on stock availability and readiness.

5. General Store Duties:

  • Ensure the security of stored items and report any irregularities or damages.
  • Follow all warehouse procedures and safety protocols.
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a storeman, warehouse assistant, or similar role.
  • Able to handle manual lifting or movement of goods.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory systems or Excel.
  • Good organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
