A leading company in public transportation seeks a Store Officer to manage warehouse operations and logistics functions. The position entails overseeing material handling, ensuring quality inspections, and maintaining records. Suitable candidates should possess strong logistics and inventory management skills to support operational efficiency in the maintenance sector.
Job Purpose
Supply Chain Management (SCM) department spearheads the end-to-end logistics functions from receiving to disposal and fulfilment of materials to maintenance operations in support of SMRT’s operations. The key functional areas include material and maintenance planning, warehousing and distribution, and repair & returns management. The logistics functions spans across multiple warehouses within Singapore.
The Store Officer plays a key role in the management of all operations in the warehouse. He shall ensure proper care and maintenance of materials and provide timely logistics assistance in support of the maintenance operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities of the Store Officer shall include but not limited to the following areas:
Warehousing and Distributions of Materials
• Perform inbound warehousing activities such as receive, conduct quality inspection of materials received from vendors, bin to location of materials, ensure proper tagging of identification slip on each material.
• In the case of discrepancies of materials in quality or quantity, initiate to buyers or Material Planners to resolve the discrepancies with the vendors.
• Perform outbound warehousing activities such as pick, pack, issue of materials to end-users, and practise First-In-First-Out (FIFO) or First-Expired-First-Out (FEFO), where appropriate.
• Perform warehousing function and housekeeping such as binning of items, moving of material from locations to locations, stock count, stock verification, packing and preservation of items.
• Manage, monitor and ensure 100% fulfilment rate of Material Requests (MR) raised by the end-users.
• Maintain inventories, keep records of movements of materials, monitor shelf-life of materials and pull out expired materials from issuance.
