About the Role:

This is a permanent job opportunity with one of the Japanese companies specialising in offering a wide range of quality products at affordable prices.

As a Store Development Manager, you will be expected to be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end development of retail stores, including site selection, lease negotiation, design coordination, fit-out management, and project execution.

You are expected to work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely, cost-effective, and brand-compliant store openings, and manages budgets, project timelines, and quality standards, while providing post-opening support and ensuring smooth handovers to operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Budget Tracking:

• Assist in monitoring project budgets, track expenses, and identify any discrepancies or potential cost overruns.

• Provide regular updates to project managers regarding the financial status of store development projects.

Purchase Orders & Quotes:

• Help obtain quotes from vendors and process purchase orders in a timely manner.

• Ensure that payments for supplies and services are processed efficiently and in accordance with company policies.

Cost Management Support:

• Support in reviewing contracts and maintaining cost-related documentation for accuracy and completeness.

• Assist in preparing reports on project costs and expenses for analysis and decision-making.

Supplier & Contractor Liaison:

• Serve as the point of contact for suppliers, contractors, and other third-party vendors involved in store development projects.

• Coordinate communication and ensure timely responses to inquiries or requests.

Contract Management:

• Help organize and track vendor contracts, ensuring that contract terms are adhered to.

• Monitor and manage contract expiration dates, renewing or negotiating terms as necessary.

Site Selection Support:

• Assist in gathering data on potential store locations, including demographics, traffic patterns, and competitor analysis.

• Compile and summarize site selection reports to assist with decision-making in new store openings.

Market Research Support:

• Assist in researching market trends, customer demographics, and other relevant information to support the development team in strategic decision-making.

• Help gather competitive intelligence and other insights that contribute to store development planning.

Supplier/Product Research:

• Research and identify potential suppliers and materials needed for store development, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

• Assist in evaluating product options to meet the specific needs of the store development projects.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in any discipline

• Relevant experience in leasing, vendor/contract management, and the ability to negotiate with mall management

• Ability to speak Japanese is preferred but not required, as it would be useful for liaising with Japanese stakeholders
