Job summary

New Park Property is seeking a Steward to maintain cleanliness of equipment, tools and kitchenware in a busy facility. The role includes cleaning dishes, polishing silverware where needed, and keeping work areas tidy and dry at all times.

You'll assist in operating dishwashing machines, manage detergent and water levels, and observe safety protocols when handling machinery. Reporting to the Steward Supervisor is required for any equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• The Steward is responsible for cleaning equipment and tools, as well as washing dishes and kitchen vessels.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, tidy and dry work area and assist in any dishwashing tasks as requested by the Steward Supervisor.
• Ensure proper handling of machinery with gloves, apron and hair net, and observe safety procedures during operation.

Job description

The Steward is responsible for cleaning equipment and tools. He/she is also responsible for washing dishes, kitchen vessels, cleaning floors and equipment etc.

Operations

• Check dishwashing machines thoroughly to see if detergents for the machine needs to be replenished
• Send all soiled towels to the laundry and dry them
• Assist in polishing silver and copperware
• Keep work area clean, tidy and dry at all times
• Wash dishes as requested by the Steward Supervisor
• Ensure that water in the dishwashing machine is maintained at a constant level/temperature and must be
• changed once every 2 hours

• Ensure that a decoy system must be set up before all soiled dishes are brought into the kitchen from the outlet.
• A container of detergent must be prepared in advance for soaking of cutleries
• Report to Steward Supervisor when any equipment/machinery is damaged, faulty or misused
