Job summary

BUANA TRADING PTE. LTD. invites applications for a Licensed Steersman or Trainee to operate harbourcraft for cargo delivery within Singapore port waters. Training, clear career progression, and flexible standby arrangements are provided in a stable, long-term role.

Responsibilities include delivering cargo, deploying from Penjuru Terminal and Marina South, and responding swiftly to activation calls to meet vessel schedules; trainees will pursue MPA licensing through on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Must be able to learn and adapt in a harbour operations environment.
• Trainees will receive structured on-the-job training and progression.
• Willingness to work six-day weeks and irregular shifts.

Job Summary

Join our team as a Licensed Steersman or Trainee to operate harbourcraft for cargo delivery within Singapore port waters. We provide training, career progression, and flexible standby arrangements in a stable, long-term role.

Responsibilities

• Operate harbourcraft to deliver cargo safely and efficiently to vessels within Singapore port waters and anchorages
• Deploy harbourcraft from Penjuru Terminal and Marina South as scheduled
• Respond promptly to short-notice activation calls to ensure timely cargo delivery
• Work irregular hours, including day, night, weekends, and public holidays, to meet vessel schedules
• For trainees, actively participate in training and on-job orientation to progress towards MPA Licensed Steersman certification
• Maintain punctuality and responsibility in all assigned duties
• Follow safety protocols and operational guidelines during all harbourcraft operations

Required competencies and certifications

• Hold a valid MPA Steersman (Port Limit) License for licensed steersman positions

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Willingness to learn and commit to long-term career development for trainee candidates

Working Arrangement:
