Job Description

About the role: The Staff Software Developer in Test (SDET) role is an ambassador of quality. You'll join one of our Agile Product squads, which consist of a Software Engineering Manager, Software Engineers, and fellow SDETs, reporting into the QA lead. You will play a key role in ensuring the team delivers efficient, effective, and scalable solutions for a wide range of problems. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, building, and maintaining QA solutions and processes, as well as coaching team members on QA best practices.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has strong experience in API testing and/or contract testing
• Has strong experience integrating testing at various levels into CI/CD pipelines
• Has played a major role in delivering high-quality solutions, ideally in a microservices environment, across large cloud-native architectures
• Has contributed to designing, developing, and evolving test architecture of large-scale, highly available cloud solutions
• Has driven positive change towards Continuous Testing, DevOps, and Agile methodologies
• Understands Cloud-Native architectures and practices such as high-availability, high-scalability, microservices, 12-factor apps, CI/CD, automation, and observability
• Has experience as a senior QA/SDET, leading discussions on technical directions and mentoring junior team members

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or
• At least 2 years with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or
• 0 years with a PhD, OR
• 8+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong coding and scripting ability in Java and/or Ruby
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to analyze problems and solutions critically, leading discussions with stakeholders
• Comfortable challenging the status quo and curious about how things work
• Understanding of Agile methods, BDD, ATDD, TDD
• Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to define acceptance criteria
• Ability to make strategic decisions with incomplete information
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Strong knowledge of Docker and AWS (public cloud)
• Knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS) and Kafka is desirable
• Experience with mocking tools such as Wiremock
