Job summary

hudsonmanpower is seeking a Standby Man for a shutdown project in Saudi Arabia. Positioned just outside the confined space entry, you will monitor conditions, maintain constant communication with inside workers, and trigger emergency actions if needed.

The role requires at least 1 year of relevant shutdown or confined space experience, basic English communication, and readiness to join on short notice. Training in confined space safety is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12th standard or equivalent.
• Basic proficiency in English (spoken and understood).
• Availability on short notice for shutdown assignments.

Responsibilities

• Remain stationed outside the confined space at all times while work is in progress.
• Maintain continuous visual and/or verbal contact with workers inside.
• Monitor environmental conditions to detect any hazards (e.g., gas, temperature, oxygen level).
• Immediately initiate emergency response procedures if required.
• Ensure all entry permits and safety procedures are strictly followed.
• Maintain communication with the safety team and site supervisor throughout the operation.
• Prevent unauthorized entry into the confined space.
• Accurately log and report any incidents or observations.

A Standby Man plays a vital safety role during confined space work.
