Job summary

MICRON SEMICONDUCTOR ASIA OPERATIONS PTE LTD is seeking a senior security test architect for SSD platforms. You will define end-to-end security test strategy, architect validation frameworks, and lead cross-functional efforts to secure designs and validate against PCIe/NVMe standards.

Responsibilities include driving automation, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with firmware/system teams on threat modeling and secure design. AI-enabled tools will be part of daily work to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in SSD firmware testing, firmware development or security validation.
• Deep understanding of SSD security architecture and PCIe/NVMe protocols.
• Hands-on with Opal, NVMe Security, SPDM, Secure Boot, cryptography and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end security test strategy across products.
• Architect security validation frameworks for current/next-gen SSD platforms.
• Lead root-cause analysis on security failures and escalations; drive corrective actions.
• Drive security test automation strategy, tooling roadmap, and regression infra at scale.
• Partner with firmware/system architects on secure design and threat modeling.
• Communicate risks, gaps, and mitigation plans to cross-functional teams/senior leadership.
• Mentor engineers and set the standard for security validation excellence.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, quality, and compliance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing AI-enabled enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end security test strategy across all products, covering development, qualification, and sustaining phases
• Architect security validation frameworks for current and next generation SSD platforms
• Lead root-cause analysis on critical security failures, customer escalations, and field escapes - drive systemic corrective actions
• Drive security test automation strategy, tooling roadmap, and regression infrastructure at scale
• Partner with firmware architects and system architects on secure design, threat modeling, and code reviews
• Communicate security risks, coverage gaps, and mitigation plans to cross-functional teams and senior leadership
• Mentor senior and junior engineers; provide technical leadership and set the standard for security validation excellence across the organization
• Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
• Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.

Requirements

• B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Over 5 years of experience in SSD firmware testing, firmware development, security validation, or related storage technologies.
• Deep understanding of SSD security architecture, PCIe/NVMe protocols, and storage industry trends.
• Hands-on knowledge of TCG Opal, NVMe Security, SPDM, Secure Boot, cryptography, FIPS, hardware Root of Trust, and key management architectures is an advantage
• Strong background in embedded firmware systems, Python-based test automation, and validation framework development.
• Proven track record leading security validation and qualification strategies across multiple SSD product generations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence architecture decisions and drive cross-functional initiatives
• Industry recognition or contributions (publications, patents, standards participation) is a plus
• Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes
