About Us

Bullet was started by a tightly-knit team with backgrounds in high frequency trading (HFT), top Silicon valley tech companies and prominent crypto exchanges. They are backed by some of the leading investors in the crypto space such as Electric Capital, Jump Capital, Race Capital, Wintermute and many more. The team previously built Zeta Markets, a leading perps DEX which facilitated over $15B in trading volume in 2025. They are looking to redefine the trading experience on Solana with Bullet, which boasts sub-1ms trade execution latency, thousands of TPS and a full featured perps and spot DEX.

Role Overview

We are seeking a world-class Rust Developer to build and optimize the core backend systems powering our exchange. You will be at the forefront of creating high-performance, scalable infrastructure that handles the demands of modern trading. The ideal candidate is an exceptional engineer with deep expertise in Rust and a strong background in building efficient, reliable, and well-tested systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize core backend and trading systems for our exchange platform.
• Write highly efficient, clean, and well-structured Rust code with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Build robust testing frameworks to ensure code quality and system reliability.
• Collaborate on the design of distributed systems and contribute to solving low-latency trading challenges.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks and optimize critical components for speed and performance.
• Operate with high autonomy, driving initiatives from concept to deployment.

Required Qualifications

• Proven expertise in Rust, demonstrated through production-level work.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in backend or systems development, and 4 years working with Rust.
• Deep understanding of efficient coding practices, performance optimization, and system design.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and low-latency trading infrastructure, familiarity with async I/O frameworks like Tokio.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with exchange architecture (e.g., margin, liquidation, and risk systems) at an exchange (CEX/DEX) or has worked on trading systems e.g. at a market maker.
• Knowledge of blockchain ecosystems, particularly Solana, as well as rollup technology stacks.
• Familiarity with databases like PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, and observability with tools like OTel, Grafana, Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics.
• Experience with API development and integration.
