Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Nursing with a valid Singapore Nursing Board Practising Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with sound clinical knowledge.
• Proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach, plus computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Participate in implementation of Nursing Standards and procedures.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care ensuring patient safety and quality.
• Guide and support junior nurses in endoscope care and maintenance.
• Supervise junior nurses and conduct performance appraisals.
• Care, maintenance and decontamination of endoscopes with accurate recording.
• Assist Endoscopist during endoscopic procedures.
• Monitor patient condition during procedures and manage emergencies (Code Blue).
• Ensure correct billing of consumables and procedures.
• Participate in monthly financial reviews and variance reports.
• Share knowledge through in-service training for ESS staff.
• Maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Education

Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent

Advanced Diploma or Post-Basic qualification in Medical-Surgical Nursing or Operating Theatre Nursing

Job description

Roles and Responsibilities.

• To participate in overall implementation of Nursing Standards and procedures.
• To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care while maintaining professional standards, patient safety and quality of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• To provide guidance and support to existing and new junior nurses in the proper care and maintenance of endoscopes and specialised equipment.
• To supervise junior nurses and conduct performance evaluations and appraisals using standard assessment tools.
• To participate in the care, maintenance and decontamination of endoscopes including accurate recording, traceability of scopes and equipment.
• To assist Endoscopist and with the endoscopic procedures.
• To monitor and evaluate patient's response and condition during the procedure which include responding and managing emergency situations in an efficient and calm manner, e.g. in Code Blue.
• To ensure correct billing of consumables used, and procedures performed for patients.
• To participate in monthly review of financial performance and variance reports.
• To continuously enhance knowledge and skills in the latest endoscopy procedures and share knowledge through the provision of in-service training for ESS staff.
• To enhance good working relationship with all our external and internal customers.
• Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Valid Singapore Nursing Board Practicing Certificate.
• Advanced Diploma or Post-Basic qualification in Medical-Surgical Nursing or Operating Theatre Nursing would be an added advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience in Endoscopy.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Possess sound clinical knowledge and skills.
• Proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach to work, as well as good computer literacy.
