Job description

With a capacity of around 430 beds, Peacehaven provides compassionate, individualized, holistic care to all without discrimination. We offer a comprehensive gamut of services to care for the sick, frail and elderly who have physical or mental disabilities with minimal or no appropriate caregiver support at home.

Responsibilities

Assist Manager in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care and service delivery. To maintain accurate records of care, participate in orientation and in-service education programs and supervise other staff as required.

Clinical Care
  • Work under supervision of Manager to analyse, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for residents. Coordinate and implement care plans for the residents.
  • Pack and serve medication and update residents/clients medical records.
  • Conduct rounds to ensure residents are well and safe and report any abnormality for immediate/timely treatment and follow up with supervisor.
  • Carry out changes made during medical consultations and update progress notes.
  • Identify problems related to illness and decline in functional, cognitive abilities and advocate early medical attention.
  • Support the care staff in attending to the needs of the residents for activities of daily living.
  • Supervise and carry out complex procedures as required.
  • Be familiar with all aspects of nursing care and emergency evacuation procedures to be able to attend to emergencies that may arise.
Quality
  • Assist and supervise activities and rehabilitation programmes to enhance the quality of life for residents.
  • Maintain systematic inventory control of drugs in RLA and all assets acquired in order to achieve optimal utilization and safe storage.
  • Practice proper decontamination procedure and infection control and ensure safe custody of residents.
  • Promote effective and co-operative working relationships in an interdisciplinary team within the RLA and with all the internal and external customer groups to deliver quality service to residents and visitors. Utilize good communication skills to develop and maintain productive relationships within RLA, with other departments, disciplines, agencies and the public.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meeting, quality improvement programs, organizational committees, workgroup activities.
Training & Development
  • Supervise and guide staff in their duties. Evaluate and discipline the performance of all staff within scope of responsibility.
  • Educate, train, and supervise residents, families and caregivers. Provide health education to residents and families.
  • Orientate new staff of professional and non-professional nursing personnel.
Others
  • Attend regular nursing and department meetings that affect policies relating to delivery of health care services.
Qualifications

Bachelor of Nursing degree

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with people of all levels
  • Demonstrate skill and knowledge in the eldercare sector
