Job description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Join an inclusive team passionate about one thing: using their expertise in the relentless pursuit of innovation for customers and partners. The solutions we build help make everything from virtual reality experiences to breakthroughs in neural networks possible. We do it all while committing to integrity, sustainability, and giving back to our communities. Because doing so can fuel the very innovation we are pursuing.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Design, develop, and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
  • Interact with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
  • Develop and code software programs, algorithms, simulation and optimization models, automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.
  • Identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources.
  • Interpret and communicate insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.
  • Explore and apply new frontier ideas, concepts and technology to enable breakthrough solutions at Micron.
  • Work with management, different departments, and global manufacturing sites to identify optimization opportunities and deliver solutions to continuously improve production metrics.
  • Drive global collaboration, alignment, and benchmarking of optimization and simulation solutions in planning & operations
  • Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate analytics, software development, simulation modeling, and solution delivery.
  • Apply Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts to enhance productivity, automate repetitive engineering activities, improve decision support, and enable scalable digital transformation solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to incorporate AI-enabled capabilities into planning, operations optimization, and digital twin solutions.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or equivalent with demonstrated strong programming and modeling capabilities.
  • Experience developing Digital Twin solutions for semiconductor manufacturing, supply chain, capacity planning, scheduling, or operations optimization is highly preferred.
  • Working experience in semiconductor or manufacturing operations simulation modeling using discrete event simulation
  • Working experience in optimization modeling and Operations Research, including Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), Linear Programming (LP), Constraint Programming, and related optimization techniques.
  • Knowledge and past experience with cloud solutions, API, GIT, ETL
  • 5+ years of strong software engineering experience with Python and SQL is required. Experience with Java and other programming languages is preferred. Ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies and development frameworks is expected.
  • Strong problem solving skills with structured & logic approaches, clear & effective communication skills
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GenieLLM, coding assistants, or related platforms) to improve productivity, software development, analytics, or decision-making workflows.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, AI agents, or AI-enabled automation concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new AI technologies and incorporate AI-enabled ways of working into day-to-day engineering and data science activities.
