Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. Singapore is seeking a data science/engineering professional to design and implement analytics for unstructured big data across semiconductor manufacturing and supply chains.

The role emphasizes digital twin development, optimization modeling, and AI-assisted tooling to accelerate analytics, simulations, and production improvements across global sites. Strong programming in Python/SQL and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or equivalent with strong programming and modelling.
  • Experience building Digital Twin solutions for semiconductor manufacturing, supply chain, capacity planning or scheduling.
  • Experience with discrete event simulation in semiconductor/manufacturing.
  • Experience with optimization modeling (MIP/LP/CP).
  • Strong Python and SQL programming; knowledge of cloud solutions, APIs, and Git.
  • Experience with Java and other languages is a plus.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and communicate insights clearly.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve productivity across development/workflows.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering and AI-enabled automation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build methods, processes, and systems to analyze big data and generate actionable insights for client services and product improvement.
  • Collaborate with product and service teams to define questions for data analysis and experiments.
  • Develop software programs, algorithms, simulations, and automated data integration across sources.
  • Extract meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources.
  • Communicate findings to product, service, and business leaders.
  • Explore new AI ideas to enable breakthrough solutions.
  • Work with global sites to identify optimization opportunities and improve production metrics.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and benchmarking of optimization and simulation tools.
  • Leverage AI, LLMs, and AI-assisted development to accelerate analytics and software delivery.
  • Apply Generative AI concepts to automate engineering tasks and enhance decision support.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.
  • Interact with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
  • Develop and code software programs, algorithms, simulation and optimization models, automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.
  • Identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources.
  • Interpret and communicate insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.
  • Explore and apply new frontier ideas, concepts and technology to enable breakthrough solutions at Micron.
  • Work with management, different departments, and global manufacturing sites to identify optimization opportunities and deliver solutions to continuously improve production metrics.
  • Drive global collaboration, alignment, and benchmarking of optimization and simulation solutions in planning & operations.
  • Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate analytics, software development, simulation modeling, and solution delivery.
  • Apply Generative AI and Agentic AI concepts to enhance productivity, automate repetitive engineering activities, improve decision support, and enable scalable digital transformation solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to incorporate AI-enabled capabilities into planning, operations optimization, and digital twin solutions.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or equivalent with demonstrated strong programming and modeling capabilities.
  • Experience developing Digital Twin solutions for semiconductor manufacturing, supply chain, capacity planning, scheduling, or operations optimization is highly preferred.
  • Working experience in semiconductor or manufacturing operations simulation modeling using discrete event simulation.
  • Working experience in optimization modeling and Operations Research, including Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), Linear Programming (LP), Constraint Programming, and related optimization techniques.
  • Knowledge and past experience with cloud solutions, API, GIT, ETL 5+ years of strong software engineering experience with Python and SQL is required.
  • Experience with Java and other programming languages is preferred.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies and development frameworks is expected.
  • Strong problem solving skills with structured & logic approaches, clear & effective communication skills.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GenieLLM, coding assistants, or related platforms) to improve productivity, software development, analytics, or decision-making workflows.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, AI agents, or AI-enabled automation concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new AI technologies and incorporate AI-enabled ways of working into day-to-day engineering and data science activities.
