About our group:

The Supply Chain organization powers the engine behind global business success. By combining operational expertise, advanced analytics, automation, and digital innovation, the team transforms complex supply chain challenges into competitive advantages.

This is more than moving products from point A to point B. It's about designing smarter processes, leveraging technology to unlock new efficiencies, and building a resilient supply chain that can adapt to an ever-changing world. The team works on initiatives that drive real business outcomes, from enhancing customer satisfaction and operational performance to accelerating growth and transformation.

Joining the team means working alongside talented professionals, tackling large-scale challenges, and contributing to projects that have a visible impact across the organization. It's an opportunity to innovate, lead change, and be part of the future of supply chain excellence.

About the role - you will:

  • Develop and execute global commodity strategies for HDD mechanical components and assemblies to achieve cost, quality, delivery, service, technology, capacity, and supply continuity objectives.

  • Lead supplier selection, sourcing events, should-cost and total cost of ownership analysis, negotiations, contracting, commercial agreements, and allocation strategies.

  • Own strategic supplier relationships, establish performance expectations, conduct business reviews, drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.

  • Partner with design engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality, finance, legal, and site supply chain teams to translate product and production requirements into executable sourcing plans.

  • Support new product introductions, part qualifications, design or specification changes, tooling readiness, capacity planning, ramp execution, and material availability.

  • Monitor mechanical supply markets, raw-material and conversion cost drivers, capacity, lead times, geopolitical developments, and supplier financial or operational conditions to identify risks and opportunities.

  • Lead supply risk mitigation, including business continuity planning, alternate-source development, tooling and capacity strategies, inventory positioning, allocation management, and recovery actions.

  • Drive cost-reduction and productivity initiatives through commercial negotiation, supplier consolidation, demand aggregation, value analysis and value engineering, process improvement, localization, and supplier innovation.

  • Ensure supplier processes and sourced components meet applicable quality, engineering, compliance, contractual, and responsible-sourcing requirements.

  • Provide clear updates to senior management on commodity strategy, supplier performance, cost savings, risk exposure, mitigation status, and supply chain effectiveness.

Commodity Scope

The portfolio includes precision mechanical parts and subassemblies supporting HDD products, development programs, and manufacturing operations, such as:

  • Precision stamped, formed, machined, die-cast, or molded components

  • Brackets, covers, bases, housing, fasteners, and related hardware

  • Mechanical assemblies, tooling-dependent parts, and supplier-managed secondary processes

  • Associated finishing and conversion processes, including plating, coating, cleaning, heat treatment, and assembly where applicable

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commodity management, strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or a related role.

  • Experience in the hard disk drive, electronics, precision mechanical, automotive, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing industry is preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, contracts, supplier performance management, and supply continuity planning.

  • Technical understanding of mechanical drawings, manufacturing processes, tooling, tolerances, materials, surface finishes, and quality requirements is highly desirable.

  • Experience supporting new product introduction, engineering change, qualification, capacity ramp, or global manufacturing operations is preferred.

Your experience includes:

  • Knowledge of global mechanical component supply markets, precision manufacturing processes, tooling economics, and procurement best practices.

  • Experience developing alternate sources, business continuity plans, regionalization or localization strategies, and supplier capacity solutions.

  • Experience partnering with engineering and suppliers on design-for-cost, value engineering, manufacturability, and technology-roadmap initiatives.

  • Familiarity with quality systems and supplier quality management in high-volume, high-precision manufacturing environments.
