Job summary

MDD Forensic Accountants is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a global practice specializing in litigation damages, business valuations and insurance claims. You will support partners and senior staff with data analysis, document examination and reporting to help build robust expert opinions.

Responsibilities include analyzing financial data, observing inventories, interviewing clients, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Accounting or finance-related degree with demonstrable post-graduate work experience.
• Working towards or willing to commit to an accounting qualification or designation.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Team-player who can work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
• Confident communicator engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure or tight deadlines.
• Ability to learn how loss events impact a business.
• IT literate with good MS Office skills; accounting software experience is a plus.

Job Description

As a Staff Accountant in MDD Forensic Accountants (a Davies Business), you will be part of a team of professionals who help evaluate and determine litigation damages, business valuations and insurance claims in a clear and concise manner that can stand up to scrutiny.

Our partners and senior staff regularly provide extensive litigation services and expert witness testimony in courts, arbitrations and mediations throughout the world and the role of Staff Accountant is crucial in supporting them to do so.

Key Responsibilities

• Analysis of sales, production and other accounting data provided by clients or obtained through research to provide accurate analysis of likely business performance
• Physical inventory observation, price testing
• Examination of source documents pertinent to engagement
• Checking and proofing reports and schedules
• Conducting phone or in person interviews to obtain information
• Attend marketing events and functions with clients

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Accounting or finance-related degree with demonstrable post-graduate work experience
