Job summary

NHG Health in Singapore seeks a Sr/Technician to engineer and maintain building facilities services for the hospital. You will oversee electrical, ACMV, plumbing, fire alarm, mechanical and overall building systems, respond to water and power issues, and document maintenance activities.

The role requires a hands-on, independent worker with 4+ years in building services, fluent English, and willingness to rotate shifts including nights.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Higher Nitec/Nitec in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of engineering experience in building engineering services.
• Able to multitask and work independently, with a hands-on approach to tight timelines.
• Good written and spoken English for report writing.
• Committed to 24/7 rotating shift including night shifts and on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and maintain building facilities services of the hospital.
• Handle Electrical, ACMV, Plumbing, Fire Alarm, Mechanical and building systems.
• Able to respond to water leaks, flooding, pumps and water supply issues.
• Assess MEP breakdowns and escalate to the appropriate Trade IC.
• Update maintenance and breakdown records in the computerised system.
• Maintain workshop facilities, tools and test equipment.
• Operate Facilities Control Centre helpdesk and store when needed.
• Identify and initiate spare parts procurement.
• Inspect, test, service and troubleshoot facilities and equipment to maximise availability.
• Keep building facilities and equipment in good order.

As a Sr/Technician, you will be responsible for the engineering and maintenance of all building facilities services of the Hospital. This includes but not limited to: -

• Basic knowledge on Electrical, ACMV, Plumbing, Fire Alarm System, Mechanical and Building Services system
• Familiar with LV switchboards, DB'c MCB/RCCB/RCD/UPS, generators and power outages
• Able to respond to water leakages, flooding, pumps and water supply issues
• Able to assess MEP breakdown symptoms and identify the cause and elevate to the appropriate Trade IC
• Update the maintenance and breakdown records into the computerised system
• Maintain the workshop facilities, tools and test equipment
• Operate the Facilities Control Centre helpdesk and Store, when needed
• Identify and initiate spare parts procurement
• Inspect, test, service, troubleshoot all facilities and equipment to maximise their availability
• Upkeep the building’s facilities and equipment

Requirements:

• Preferably Diploma/Higher Nitec/Nitec in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• At least 4 years of engineering experience preferable in building Engineering services
• Able to multitask and work independently, with a hands-on approach, to meet tight timelines
• Good oral and written communication skills in the English language for report writing
• Committed to work on 24/7 rotating shift schedule (including night shift) and support cover duties
