JOB SUMMARY

To provide prompt and efficient imaging service in angiographic procedures.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SPECIFIC

  1. Be responsible for daily testing of the equipment before the day starts.
  2. To ensure that room is properly prepared before bringing in a patient.
  3. To brief patients on the nature of the procedures and explain what they are expected to do.
  4. To provide positioning and immobilization devices as required.
  5. To practise sterile techniques to prevent cross contamination.
  6. To ensure that the proper patient’s name and other required information are documented.
  7. To acquire diagnostic images in angiographic examinations, with due regard to radiation safety, patient care and clinical needs.
  8. Be involved in the care of patients undergoing examinations with due regard to the condition and nature of the illness and reasons for investigations.
  9. Be responsible for the proper functioning and maintenance of radiographic equipment and accessories within the work area.
  10. Demonstrate good practice in the use of screening controls positioning of the Image intensifier and collimator.
  11. To ensure adequate radiation safety of patients, staff and public within the work environment and adhere to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles, particularly with regards to image acquisition.
  12. To practise regulated safety standards according to Joint Commission International and Occupational Safety and Health Act.

GENERAL

  1. To perform 24-hour call duty as rostered.
  2. To assist in the department’s EHS, PDS and ISO/JCI efforts.
  3. To participate in quality improvement projects at Hospital-wide / Departmental level.
  4. To coach and guide junior radiographers.
  5. To monitor and control the radiographic supplies.
  6. To maintain quality control and maintenance of imaging equipment and accessories.
  7. To assist in the preparation of specification, evaluation and commissioning of new facilities, x-ray equipment and accessories.
  8. To demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills with the patients, next-of-kin, colleagues and supervisors.
  9. To demonstrate familiarity with mass disaster plan and participate in the disaster exercise accordingly to assigned roles and responsibilities.
  10. To exercise care in the use of radiographic equipment and supplies.
  11. To maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance to EHS policy.
  12. To demonstrate competency in the use of the Cardiac PACs.
  13. To cross cover Nuclear Cardiology Services / Cardiac CT when required.
  14. To perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior Nurse Manager, Radiographer-in-charge, doctors and Head of Department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Degree or Diploma in Radiography from recognized institutions.
  2. Preferably 6 years of experience in general radiography or Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory.
  3. Registered with Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC), Singapore with Conditional / Restricted / Full Registration.
  4. Possess valid Practicing Certificate from AHPC, Singapore.
