• Job Description
• You will be leading engineering and software delivery projects focused on cloud and data transformation areas, working closely with internal stakeholders, clients, and external vendors.
• The Engineering Lead (EL) will report to the Solution Architect, Director in the VMS team. The EL will lead a team of software engineers and QA analysts from vendors, managing the technical delivery and quality of work.
• You will also handle estimation, timelines, and other commitments required to deliver initiatives.
• You will work alongside experienced engineers to improve data engineering quality, including:
  1. Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  2. Collaborating with QA engineers on automated testing scenarios.
• Job Duties
  1. Lead development activities aligning with project goals and timelines.
  2. Manage development-related inputs to management.
  3. Oversee multiple stakeholders across technology areas.
  4. Review test cases for comprehensive coverage.
  5. Raise risks related to code quality and delivery delays.
  6. Understand defects in code, data, and environment issues.
  7. Mentor and guide team members technically.
  8. Conduct technical and functional code reviews to maintain quality standards.
• This is a hybrid position; in-office days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
• Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant commercial experience.
  • 8+ years of experience, with at least 2 years as a tech lead or engineering manager.
  • Experience with agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with PySpark or equivalent.
  • Software release management and deployment experience.
  • Knowledge of J2EE, REST, API frameworks.
  • Experience designing event-based and streaming solutions with Kafka is valued.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience in a DevOps environment or willingness to learn.
  • Proven ability to deliver scalable, fault-tolerant solutions.
  • Experience reviewing peer code.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in Spark, especially Py-Spark.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platforms and services.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, Data Vault 2.0 methodology.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Certifications such as DP-203, Databricks Certified, or equivalent.
  • Desire to become a subject matter expert and grow others.
  • Interest in continuous improvement and big-picture understanding.
  • Ability to work with external providers and senior stakeholders.
