Private Advertiser is seeking a Sports Trainer to support the medical care and wellbeing of the organisation's athletes, combining hands-on treatment, injury prevention and clinic coordination to keep them match ready. You will provide on-site medical support during training, camps and competitions, perform massage and rehab techniques, and help arrange referrals and track progress.

Requirements: Diploma or Bachelor’s in Sports Science, at least 3 years supporting athletes, knowledge of injury

  • Certification in First Aid, CPR and AED.

Job Summary

The Sports Trainer plays a key role in supporting the medical care and physical wellbeing of the organisation's athletes. Reporting to the department head, this role combines hands-on treatment, injury prevention, and clinic coordination to keep athletes fit, healthy, and match ready.

Job Description
Medical Coverage & Treatment
  • Provide on-site medical support for athletes and staff during training sessions, camps, and competitions (local and overseas)
  • Perform massage therapy and other rehabilitation techniques as advised by team physiotherapists
  • Support recovery routines after training and matches, including hydrotherapy, ice baths, and preparing hydration/recovery drinks (in coordination with the fitness coach)
  • Refer injured athletes to the appropriate specialists and help arrange their appointments
  • Support the team doctor or physiotherapist in rehabilitating injured athletes, tracking their progress through to full return to play
  • Help expedite specialist referrals and track injury and recovery rates across teams
Injury Prevention & Communication
  • Monitor and document athlete health and injury trends
  • Keep athletes and coaches informed on the status and progress of injuries, treatment options, and recovery timelines
  • Share up-to-date guidance on injury prevention, immediate injury management, and possible complications
  • Run educational sessions for athletes, coaches, and other stakeholders on preventing and managing common injuries
  • Work closely with fitness coaches and other sports science specialists (e.g. in nutrition and exercise physiology) to align on athletes' training, recovery, and injury prevention needs
Clinic & Administrative Support
  • Help run the day-to-day operations of the medical clinic/gym, including scheduling athlete appointments and maintaining smooth workflows
  • Work with physiotherapists to improve patient care processes and resolve any issues that arise
  • Track medical supplies and help ensure equipment is well-maintained
  • Manage athlete insurance claims, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete before submission
  • Support broader initiatives aimed at strengthening the organisation's sports medicine capabilities
  • Take on other related duties as assigned by the department head
Job Requirements
  • Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science.
  • Minimum 3 years in supporting athletes in training sessions, competitions and injury management and rehabilitation
  • Knowledge of sports injury treatment and rehabilitation practices.
  • Certified First Aid, CPR and AED.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-based environment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel for competitions.
