The Singapore Police Force Scholarship (The SPFS) is one of the most prestigious scholarships awarded by the Public Service Commission. SPFS is awarded to candidates who have shown outstanding academic performance and leadership qualities, with a strong desire to serve in the Singapore Police Force.As a SPFS scholar, you will continue on your learning journey in a world-renowned university which provide intellectually, socially and personally enriching programmes to prepare you for a life of service and leadership. Upon your return, you will be involved in shaping policies to address issues on public law and order and play an integral role in protecting our country, community and your loved ones.As a Guardian of law and order, your determination and actions to make a difference will transform the lives of many!

* Applicants intending to pursue a degree in Law will not be called to the Bar while serving in the SPF .

CONDITION OF AWARD

Scholarship holders will be bonded for six years (for studies in English-speaking countries) or five years (for studies in non-English-speaking countries) or four years (for local studies) starting from the day they assume duty after completing their course of study.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Scholarship holders will be rotated through regular postings to acquire investigation acumen, policy conceptualisation skills and command & leadership abilities in the first six years of their career.

Scholarship holders will be emplaced on the Public Service Leadership Programme where they will be given opportunities to acquire specialised knowledge and capabilities to take on key leadership positions in the Singapore Police Force.

The Scholarship Board can decide to offer you the following Scholarship tiers:-

Singapore Merit Scholarship (SMS), Singapore Government Scholarship (SGS), Local Merit Scholarship (LMS), Home Team Local Study Award (HTLSA)

ELIGIBILITY

• Singapore Citizen or SPR who is intending to take up Singapore Citizenship
  
  
• Have strong leadership qualities and potential
  
  
• Possess strong interest in safeguarding the safety and security of Singapore
  
  
• Have good academic and Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) records
  
  
• Have a GCE A-Levels, International Baccalaureate, Polytechnic, NUS High School, or other high school diploma/certificate

Eligible scholarship holders who meet the criteria will be emplaced on the Public Service Leadership Programme where they will be given opportunities to acquire specialised knowlege and capabilities to take on key leadership positions in the SPF.

The Home Team Diploma Sponsorship is awarded to talented polytechnic students who demonstrate leadership, have the drive and resilience to take on challenges and who share Singapore Police Force (SPF)'s vision to keep Singapore safe and secure. We sponsor you for a three year full-time diploma education in any of the local five polytechnics.

The sponsorship will not only provide financial incentives during your diploma studies, but also provide a fulfilling and rewarding career with developmental opportunities to acquire new skills and upgrade your academic qualifications when you join the SPF. Upongraduation, you will serve at SPF as a Police Officer.

You will receive reimbursement of up to 100% oftuition fees and backdated monthly allowance depending on when you sign up for the Home Team Diploma Sponsorship. The back-payment rates for your tuition fees and allowances are as follows:

ELIGIBILITY

• Existing students studying at Nanyang, Ngee Ann, Republic, Singapore or Temasek Polytechnic
• Singapore citizen
• Good ‘O’ Level/Nitec/Higher Nitec/Diploma results
• Medically and physically fit, with at least a ‘pass’ in NAPFA
• Interested to do real work, not desk bound and enjoy working with people

1. Monthly allowance of $1,300 or a total of $15,600 per year

Under the MTE scheme, you will serve as regular officer and receive regular pay. At the end of the 5-year MTE period, you would have fulfilled their NS obligations and the Home Team Diploma Sponsorship bond.

The Home Team ITE Sponsorship is awarded to talented Higher NITEC students who demonstrate leadership, have the drive and resilience to take on challenges and who share Singapore Police Force (SPF)'s vision to keep Singapore safe and secure. We sponsor you for your education in the ITE.

The Sponsorship will not only provide financial incentives during your Higher NITEC studies, but also provide a fulfilling and rewarding career with developmental opportunities to acquire new skills and upgrade your academic qualifications when you join the SPF. Upon graduation, you will serve with the SPF as a Police Officer.

• Existing students studying Higher NITEC programmes at local ITEs

CONDITION OF AWARD

Home Team ITE Sponsorship recipients will be required to fulfil a bond of 2 years for a 1-year course (or if the application is made in Higher NITEC Year 2) or 3 years bond for a 2 year course.

*If you apply in Higher NITEC Year 2, no back-payment will be made for the 1st year of studies.
Home Team ITE Sponsorship recipients who qualify for a place in a local polytechnic and receive the Home Team Diploma Sponsorship, will have their combined bond capped up to 6 years.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) Book Prize is awarded to students in recognition of their academic excellence and stellar co-curricular achievements. The award aims to motivate students in their continued pursuit of excellence in school and affirm the SPF’s commitment towards the holistic development of students as future leaders of Singapore.

Every year, the SPF presents the SPF Book Prize to 20 second-year Junior College, Year 6 International Baccalaureate and Year 3 Polytechnic students. As part of the SPF Book Prize journey, you will be given the rare opportunity to participate in enriching experiential programmes that allow you to interact with various SPF officers to get a glimpse into the exciting world of policing.

ELIGIBILITY

Students who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents intending to take up citizenship, may apply for the SPF Book Prize if they meet the following criteria:

• SPF Book Prize Selection Day – an exciting one-day assessment programme where students will partake in a simulated Operations Planning Exercise
