Job summary

ST LUKE'S HOSPITAL is seeking an experienced Speech Therapist to provide clinical supervision and lead rehabilitation service standards. You will deliver direct patient care, coordinate the rehab team, and participate in audits, procurement, and staff development to enhance overall care quality.

The role requires a Master’s in Speech Therapy, AHPC registration, and 5+ years of community-based experience, with the ability to work both in a team and independently.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Speech Therapy from an approved program.
• Full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council.
• 5+ years of experience as a Speech Therapist in a community setting.
• Experience in project management is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision and consultation to enhance rehab service standards.
• Deliver direct clinical services to general or specialized patient groups.
• Coordinate rehab team to optimise manpower and standards.
• Follow up improvements after audits.
• Assist in procurement of equipment and inventory management.
• Organise staff and caseload coverage; lead staff meetings related to rehab standards.
• Appraise juniors and participate in incident investigation and reporting.
• Lead in staff training plans, drills, and audit activities to ensure competency.
• Support research activities and project involvement.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide clinical supervision and consultation to enhance rehab service standard.
• Assist to establish evidence based practice through the means of guideline, protocol and equipment
• Provide direct clinical service to a general or specialized group of patients
• Coordinate rehab team to enhance manpower usage and good rehab standard.
• Follow up improvement after auditing.
• Involve in procurement of equipment and allocation.
• Maintain equipment and its inventory.
• Assist to organize staff and caseload coverage.
• Assist to lead in staff meeting which is related to rehab service standard.
• Appraise juniors
• Incident investigation and reporting.
• Assist in introducing measures to enhance efficiency and work safety.
• Follow up individual staff training plan
• Assist in organize drill and audit to ensure staff competency
• Coordinate departmental in-service training planning, project and individual training plan to progress the rehab development.

Requirements

• Recognized Masters in Speech Therapy
• Full registration with the Allied Health Professions Council
• At least more than 5 years of experience as Speech Therapist in a community setting
• Experience in project management preferred
• Able to work well in a team and also independently
• Competent in using Microsoft Office software
• Possess management skills, leadership skills and problem-solving skills
