ASSISI HOSPICE in Singapore is seeking a Speech Therapist to assess swallowing, speech, language and cognitive-communication needs. You will identify dysphagia risks, recommend diet textures and feeding strategies, and educate families on safe feeding techniques as part of a patient‑centered care plan.
The role emphasizes adherence to AHPC standards, infection control, and collaboration with the care team. Strong communication and multitasking are essential in this fast-paced setting.
Assess swallowing, speech, language, communication and cognitive-communication needs.
Identify and manage dysphagia risks, including aspiration prevention and safe feeding in patients with serious progressive illness such as advanced cancer, organ failures and neurological diseases.
Recommend diet textures, fluid consistencies, swallowing strategies and communication supports.
Educates family/caregivers on safe feeding techniques and signs of distress.
Participates in goals-of-care discussions around oral intake and care planning.
Ensure compliance with AHPC standards, clinical protocols, and infection control requirements.
Plan and deliver staff training and in-service sessions for nursing staff, care staff and therapy assistants as needed.
Degree in Speech Therapy from an accredited institution.
Fully registered with Allied Health Professions Council.
At least 3 years of relevant working experience preferred.
Bilingual and ability to communicate in local dialects preferably.
