About the role

Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital is seeking an experienced Speech Therapist to join our team. As a full-time Speech Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive speech and language therapy services to our residents, helping them regain and improve their communication and swallowing abilities.

What you'll be doing

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders

  • Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans to address the unique needs of each patient

  • Providing one-on-one and group therapy sessions to patients, focusing on improving their communication, feeding, and swallowing skills

  • Prepares care giver training.

  • Supervises subordinates during client treatment to ensure established levels of safety and professionalism are met.

  • Work out client treatment roster and schedule for therapy treatment.

  • Documenting patient progress, maintaining detailed records, and reporting on treatment outcomes, as well as to ensure billing and charging procedures for treatments given are being done properly.

  • Manages and summits daily and monthly statistics on time and monitors inventory management.

  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care

  • Participating in ongoing professional development and training to stay up-to-date with the latest speech therapy practices and techniques

What we're looking for

  • A degree in Speech Pathology or a related field

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Speech Therapist in a healthcare setting

  • Registered as an Allied Health Professional with the Singapore Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with our residents, NOK, and the healthcare team

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and develop tailored treatment plans

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in speech therapy
