Job summary

Huawei is seeking a passionate Speech and Audio Research Engineer in Singapore to advance state-of-the-art algorithms for embedded systems. The role involves independent research, development and implementation of advanced speech and audio processing techniques.

Candidates should have PhD in relevant fields, deep expertise in signal processing, and hands-on experience with C/C++ and Python, Matlab; experience in acoustic testing and evaluating audio algorithms is highly valued.

Qualifications

PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field focusing on audio/speech processing.
Deep knowledge in signal processing applied to audio, active noise control, speech enhancement, adaptive filtering or microphone array processing.
Strong mathematical background.
Working knowledge of C/C++ and/or Matlab/Python scripting; DSP optimization for embedded systems.
Desirable: AI applied to audio with hands-on DL framework in Python; experience deploying DSP on embedded audio systems; knowledge of earphone ANC/hear-through algorithms; track record in world competitions in speech/audio processing.

Responsibilities

Conduct independent research of advanced speech and audio algorithms for embedded systems.
Develop and implement algorithms for embedded platforms and perform objective/subjective evaluations.
Collaborate on acoustic tests, data acquisition, and testing equipment; optimize DSP code for real-time performance.
