A non-government organization dedicated to championing the welfare of migrant workers is seeking a dedicated support staff member. The role involves maintaining volunteer databases, engaging with workers, and supporting casework while promoting fair employment practices. Candidates should possess a diploma and be capable of working effectively both independently and in a team.
About Migrant Workers' Centre (MWC)
Set up in 2009, the Migrant Workers’ Centre (MWC) is a bipartite initiative of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF). The MWC is a non-government organisation whose mission is to champion fair employment practices and the well-being of migrant workers in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a database of volunteers and/or migrant workers
Support in engaging volunteers and/or migrant workers
Support MWC's Case work related to the volunteers and/or migrant workers
Support in manning and operating MWC's premises
Support volunteers and/or migrant workers, when the need arises
Liaise with vendors and stakeholders to carry out activities
Support MWC to monitor effectiveness of our programmes and recommend new activities that may be beneficial for volunteers and/or migrant workers
Support MWC in other areas when the need arises.
Other additional projects as assigned
Requirements:
Diploma holder in any discipline
Any experience in engaging migrant workers would be advantageous
Able to carry out assigned tasks independently
Strong time management and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and collaboratively with professionalism, integrity, and cultural sensitivity
Passionate in pursuing advocacy work related to Migrant Workers and to always maintain a positive and professional outlook
Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in at least one of the migrant worker languages
Able to work in a high-paced environment and support other core functions within the organization
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Able to work on weekends (alternative Saturday or Sunday)
Able and willing to respond to urgent incidents at irregular hours
A valid class 3 driving license would be preferred
