Job Description
- Regulatory Monitoring & Compliance: Supervise monitoring of regulatory changes, conduct compliance research, and manage projects within the compliance group.
- Policy & Guidance: Exercise discretion and independent judgment on change management and compliance matters, formulating and implementing policies.
- Legal Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on federal, state, and local laws related to mortgage lending, providing strategic guidance.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Mortgage Real Estate Services team to enhance key documents, policies, and procedures, and monitor compliance.
- Meeting Coordination: Prepare for monthly compliance calls, including creating decks, coordinating calls, and follow-up.
- Audit Support: Assist with SSAE 18, SOX, and client audits.
- Database Management: Maintain a database of applicable statutes and regulations related to mortgage and real estate compliance.
- Project Management: Lead projects by coordinating resources, creating detailed plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience in compliance and/or auditing, with knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Experience in the real estate industry, especially in creating compliance processes and controls.
- Extensive knowledge of RESPA, FHA, GLBA, and state real estate regulations.
- Research and implementation skills for laws and regulations.
- Strong project management skills, problem-solving, and data analysis abilities.
- Experience in the title industry is a plus.
