Position: Specialist, IT Infrastructure & Operations

Responsibilities

We are seeking a competent and dynamic individual to contribute to the daily operations and maintenance of our organization's IT infrastructure and operations. This includes managing servers, storage, with a primary focus on networking and cybersecurity management in a hybrid cloud environment. The IT Infrastructure Specialist will collaborate with other IT teams to ensure alignment of IT systems with business goals.

As a network and cybersecurity specialist, your role will involve maintaining our network and security infrastructure, working with REC's managed service provider (MSP) and vendors to ensure the stability and security of LANs and WANs. Responsibilities include troubleshooting network performance issues, collaborating with IT staff for smooth operations, and providing technical support to end-users.

You will analyze and assess current network and security systems, propose improvements, and stay updated on emerging technologies and threats to ensure our infrastructure remains efficient and secure.

Key skills include a strong understanding of networking protocols, network security principles, cybersecurity best practices, and experience with diagnostic and monitoring tools. Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Assist in configuring and deploying network equipment.
• Maintain network documentation and diagrams.
• Implement and maintain security measures.
• Participate in vulnerability assessments and patch management.
• Assist in incident response and security monitoring.

Qualifications

Technical/Professional

• Degree in IT/IS related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the IT/IS industry.

Technological

• In-depth knowledge of server hosting, network, security, and storage technologies.
• Good understanding of network technologies and cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
