Job Description
- Provides learning and behavioural support to students with SEN like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dyslexia, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Provide in-class support, withdrawal support and specialised training in life skills
- Handle cases and manage records of students with SEN
- Develop and manage the teaching and learning resources for students with SEN, including setting up and maintaining a special needs-friendly classroom/school environment
- Liaise with stakeholders (e.g. parents, external agencies) to ensure continued support for students with SEN
- Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to assess specialist consultation and support for students with SEN
- Apply a systematic approach to identify students' learning needs (learning, behavioral & socio-emotional) and concerns through regular discussions and observations.
- Work directly and indirectly with students to develop and implement effective interventions.
- Monitor students’ progress and guide them in exploring strategies for improvement.
- Stay current with developments in special educational needs (SEN), and child development.
- Build positive relationships with students to foster self-confidence, self-esteem, and independence.
- Train and support stakeholders (e.g. teachers, parents) in applying effective strategies to support students’ learning and well-being.
Job Requirements
- A recognized degree in Special Educational Needs, or a related field. Relevant experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the needs of N(T)/G1 students and experience supporting diverse learner profiles.
- Passionate about enabling students with higher needs, to grow into confident, capable individuals.
- Skilled at building rapport with students to encourage and guide them effectively.
- Innovative and resourceful, with experience in applying evidence-based interventions.
- Committed, responsible, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
