Specialist, Engineering (WDA) 2-year contract

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in Electrical/Instrument/Mechanical/Utilities engineering and troubleshooting to improve operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
• Supervise maintenance technicians supporting unit operations and utilities plant.
• Be on standby for emergency repairs after office hours, weekends, and public holidays.
• Assist in calibration of instruments, selection, and installation of utilities automation systems.
• Improve procedures and conduct related studies.
• Ensure compliance with all related requirements.
• Assist in installation, modification, fabrication, testing, servicing, and repairs of equipment, following site change control procedures.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, and qualification activities (IQ, OQ) to ensure compliance.
• Manage maintenance project schedules, costs, and quality using proper controls.
• Ensure project deliverables are met and documentation is complete.
• Identify and improve routine work activities.
• Support studies to enhance equipment or system efficiency, reduce energy costs, and other cost-saving initiatives.
• Perform tasks assigned by Supervisor related to equipment, systems, documentation, or housekeeping.
• Establish and lead safety, health, and environmental objectives for projects.
• Support evaluation and implementation of utilities automation systems.
• Participate in safety, health, environmental, business compliance, cGMP, and other related matters.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by Supervisors.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of relevant technical experience in manufacturing, including process/facilities equipment operation, reliability, and maintenance planning.
• Project management skills, problem-solving, technical solution development, planning, and scheduling experience with multi-functional teams.
• Preferred experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Six Sigma, and Lean tools.

Functional Competencies include:

• Utilities operation and project management skills for small maintenance projects, delivering within budget, schedule, and quality.
• Knowledge of regulations, policies, equipment design, qualification, preventive maintenance, and calibration.
• Awareness of engineering and compliance standards through tasks and training.
• Understanding of practical engineering applications, planning, and data support for risk-based decisions.
