Job summary

Crédit Agricole CIB in Singapore invites an experienced Java Software Engineer to join the CSI department for a 12-month contract. You will deliver robust in-house banking applications, work with risk and finance tools, and coordinate with business analysts to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

The role requires deep Java expertise (17/21), Spark, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD in an Agile context.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development and testing experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21, Spring Boot, and SQL databases.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Frontend and backend development exposure; relational database expertise.

The Team & Department

The department of Corporate and Support Functions IT (CSI) is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk and finance applications, used by end users worldwide. Our Risks Core Systems (RCS) section handles applications responsible for risk data collection, risk calculation and monitoring for CA-CIB worldwide.

The section handles applications responsible for risk data collection, risk calculation and monitoring for CACIB worldwide. It also covers Front Office Applications, Credit Decision Processing tool, Global Authorization Repository system and Default History Data Base. The applications are all in-house developments.

Position

Main responsibilities

NOTE: We are open to Spark Developer and/or Java Developer

As Java Software Engineer:

• Deliver fully tested source code complying with quality indicators objectives
• Address technical aspects with Architect and functional aspects with business analysts
• Liaise with business analysts for clarification and understanding of requirements
• Solution design using proven patterns, awareness of anti-patterns, performance tuning
• Analyze technical constraints considering functional impact
• Organize and take ownership of detailed technical documentation
• Provide detailed estimation for development of solution
• Develop test strategy in coordination with project manager / business analysts
• Perform design and code review for other team members
• Mentor junior team members
• Be proactive and ensure a continuous improvement mindset for the team
• Work in a fast-paced Agile work environment
• Report code quality indicators to Project manager / Team head periodically
• Adhoc duties as assigned

Qualifications and Profile

• This position requires a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in software development and testing
• Solid understanding in Java 17/21, Spring boot, Unix shell scripting, and MS SQL
• Experience in Apache Spark, Kubernetes and Docker
• Knowledge on both frontend and backend development
• Solution design using proven patterns, awareness of anti-patterns, performance tuning
• In-depth knowledge on Relational databases – MS SQL Server, SQL profiler, query analyzer
• Knowledge of scheduling tools (Airflow, Control-M)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab/ ArgoCD or similar)
• Good understanding & working knowledge of Agile/Scrum

Other Professional Skills and Mindset

• Knowledge in Risk
• Knowledge of project management and software development lifecycle would be a plus
• Exposure with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) for data processing.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Fast reacting and autonomous, with a problem-solving orientation
• Experience working in enterprise or financial services environments is an advantage.

Note -This is 12 months contract role. Renewable subject to performance.
