Job summary

A leading manufacturing company is seeking a qualified Engineer to focus on cost reduction and sourcing of electronic and mechanical components. You will engage with suppliers, manage SAP data, and collaborate closely with the engineering team to achieve designated KPIs. Candidates should have a degree in Engineering and relevant experience in the EMS environment, ensuring they can select optimal suppliers and manage commercial relationships effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years working experience in EMS.
• Experience in sourcing and procuring electro-mechanical components.
• Strong knowledge in mechanical and electronic commodities.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost reduction and VA/VE activities focusing on components.
• Source electronic and mechanical components for new projects.
• Manage supplier relationships on all commercial issues.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• To perform cost reduction, VA/VE activities focusing on mechanical and electronic components, etc working closely together with the engineering team to achieve the KPIs set by the management (eg. the material cost reduction target).

• To source electronic and mechanical components to support new projects during the product development stage.

• To be able to perform cost analysis and select best supplier to meet the product requirement

• To be responsible in managing the relationship with suppliers on all commercial issues

• Management of SAP data integrity

Requirements:

• At least a Degree in Engineering

• Minimum 3 years working experience in the EMS or Electronic Manufacturing Environment with Component Engineering experience (especially in terms of VA/VE activities)

• Experience in sourcing, purchasing or procuring of electro-mechanical components

• Strong knowledge in mechanical commodities (LCD, cables) and electronic commodities (eg. active or passive electronic components)

• Experience in SAP system

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
