You will work at the interface between our builders, who order parts, and our manufacturing partners, who produce and assemble these parts. Your contribution plays a pivotal role in creating the world's premier platform for hardware manufacturing.

In your capacity as a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing manufacturability and costs associated with fabrication processes. Using your Mechanical Engineering background and knowledge of manufacturing processes, you will propose design changes to meet the builders' specifications. By developing competitive proposals and quotations, you will help accelerate product launches across various industries and drive Fictiv's growth.

Reporting to the Director of US Manufacturing Engineering & Global Standards, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Release Package Review: Analyzing models, drawings, parts lists, and other data to determine feasibility for manufacturing, requirements, and lead time.
  2. Quoting: Generating quotes for builders using analysis and software recommendations.
  3. Calculator Generation: Developing cost calculators based on fabrication expertise to support new service offerings.
  4. DFx Feedback: Providing design alteration recommendations to enhance manufacturability and reduce fabrication costs.
  5. Automation Feedback: Offering insights to improve the accuracy of automated quoting services.
  6. Drawing Generation: Creating high-quality 2D drawings per ANSI/ASME Y14.5 standards.

  • Proficient in GD&T, conventional tolerancing, and common metals and plastics manufacturability.
  • Experienced in multiple custom mechanical manufacturing processes such as sheet metal, urethane casting, and injection molding.
  • Must have CNC machining and 3D printing experience.
