What does it take to become a Civican?

Civica is looking for a Solutions Architect who bridges client requirements with our product capabilities across the full customer lifecycle. This role provide pre-sales technical solutioning, leads architecture and design for scalable, secure solutions, and supports post-sales technical adoption and troubleshooting, ensuring successful implementations and long-term customer value.

A day in the life
  • Partner with business development, product, and technical teams to understand client challenges and shape conceptual solutions that outline the target state.
  • Scope and estimate the impact, effort, and feasibility of new requirements or change requests.
  • Lead or support business case development, including outlining solution approaches, trade-offs, cost/effort estimates, risk identification, and business value articulation.
  • Lead the design of end-to-end system architectures, ensuring alignment with business requirements, security standards, and scalability needs.
  • Translate functional and non-functional requirements into robust, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Prepare and maintain solution blueprints, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Partner with the Business Development Manager to support sales opportunities as the technical subject matter expert.
  • Participate in pre-sales activities including RFP responses, solution design, and client presentations.
  • Build and deliver compelling technical demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and proposals that showcase solution value.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support sales teams in articulating the technical value and feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Provide technical oversight across all phases of solution implementation to ensure design integrity and successful delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including development, QA, DevOps, and product to resolve issues during delivery.
  • Act as the primary technical contact for customers post-sales, managing technical queries and ensuring smooth onboarding, configuration, and adoption.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of technical issues, working with internal teams to deliver timely support.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and ensure continuous improvements in solution delivery.
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and practices to enhance solution design and delivery.
  • Establish and promote architectural best practices, technical standards, and delivery frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities for product and solution enhancements that expand customer value.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a dedicated system architecture or solution design role, preferably within software or SaaS environments, with proven ability to design and implement solutions of similar scale, complexity, and nature.
  • Successfully completed at least 2 full system implementations, ideally involving enterprise or large-scale platforms.
  • Strong understanding of architectural patterns such as microservices, API integrations, and cloud-native design.
  • Solid experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Demonstrated experience in pre-sales technical solutioning, including responding to RFPs, creating demos/proof-of-concepts, and crafting technical proposals.
  • Proven ability to provide post-sales technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure successful onboarding and adoption.
  • Excellent communication, client engagement and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to navigate internal teams and processes to drive architectural and technical outcomes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and security frameworks (e.g., PDPA, ISO 27001, MAS TRM).
  • Prior experience working in agile development environments and using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git.
