Job summary

Activate Interactive Pte Ltd, Singapore, is seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to design and govern end-to-end data architectures for a platform supporting AI-ready workloads. This 6-month fixed-term contract role requires hands-on delivery on AWS with Databricks or Snowflake, and leadership across data contracts, governance, and schema design.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture.
• Experience designing medallion (bronze/silver/gold) data architectures and semantic layers.
• Hands-on delivery on AWS using Databricks or Snowflake.
• Experience defining data contracts and governance for large-scale platforms.
• Leadership of data platform architecture for national or large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with ingesting diverse data types (IoT, logs, image/video).
• Experience with GenAI workloads and AI-ready data architectures.

What will you do?

The Solution Architect shall be responsible for the following:

• Design the end-to-end data architecture for the platform, including the medallion layers (bronze/silver/gold), semantic layer, and business analytics layer.
• Define data models, data contracts, and governance frameworks for the core platform build.
• Own schema design and data warehouse design decisions.
• Ensure the architecture supports ingestion of diverse data types — IoT/telemetry, CCTV, building system logs — and is ready for AI/ML workloads.
• Coordinate with partners to define the interface framework and specifications for inbound and outbound data sources.
• Define governed access patterns for downstream consumers such as dashboards, APIs, and AI tools, working with the security function to ensure appropriate access controls and audit logging.
• Assess available data to form hypotheses on how data can be used for data science and ML use cases, informing the data collection and architecture approach.
• Ensure the foundational data architecture supports ongoing hypothesis testing, MLOps pipelines, and use case development.
• Document all key architectural and technical decisions, including rationale and trade-offs, throughout the engagement.
• Work closely with internal team members to progressively transfer architecture and design capability.

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience in data architecture.
• Proven experience designing and building medallion (bronze/silver/gold) data architectures and semantic layers from the ground up, with hands‑on delivery on AWS using mainstream lakehouse or data warehouse platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.
• Experience defining data contracts, governance frameworks, and schema design for large-scale platforms, including implementing automated data quality controls within the pipeline.
• Experience leading architecture for data platforms at national or large and complex scale, having served as the lead architect for the majority of the project's duration, including demonstrated experience delivering comparable data platform projects internationally at city-level or above, beyond the Singapore market.
• Familiarity with ingesting diverse data types, including IoT/telemetry, system logs, and image/video data.
• Experience with robotics data formats and the ingestion and processing of sensor or field‑equipment data streams is preferred.
• Experience designing data infrastructure that supports GenAI workloads, including AI‑ready data architecture for large language model or retrieval‑augmented generation use cases, is preferred.
