Job summary

UNISONEDGE CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect – AWS Cloud & Infrastructure to lead architecture across enterprise cloud environments in Singapore.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Cloud Architect – AWS Cloud & Infrastructure to provide architecture leadership and strong engineering execution across enterprise cloud environments.

The role will be responsible for designing enterprise-scale cloud solutions and translating architecture into working implementations through automation, Infrastructure-as-Code and modern engineering practices.

The successful candidate will contribute to cloud strategy, architecture standards, security controls, governance frameworks, and cost optimization initiatives while working closely with application teams, CloudOps, SRE, DBA, security, and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have strong AWS expertise with practical experience in cloud-native technologies, CI/CD automation, infrastructure-as-code, cloud security, troubleshooting, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Architecture & Design

• Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native architectures for enterprise and digital workloads.
• Define and maintain cloud reference architectures, reusable architecture patterns and engineering standards.
• Review solution architectures and provide recommendations on scalability, reliability, high availability, performance, security and cost optimization.
• Drive adoption of AWS cloud best practices across projects and technology platforms.
• Partner with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to align technology solutions with business requirements.
• Support cloud transformation, migration, and modernization initiatives.

2. Cloud Engineering & Implementation

• Translate cloud architecture designs into scalable and production-ready implementations.
• Design and implement GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
• Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure and services, including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, ELB, RDS, EFS, FSx, S3, KMS, Secrets Manager, EventBridge, and CloudWatch.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Develop automation scripts using Python, Ansible, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Implement and support container-based deployments and Kubernetes orchestration platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, cloud, and infrastructure issues across production and non-production environments.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement preventive and corrective actions.

3. Cloud Security & Governance

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures in accordance with security and governance standards.
• Implement security best practices covering least-privilege access, encryption, secrets management, and identity and access controls.
• Implement and support AWS security controls including IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty and security monitoring.
• Implement network security controls across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with Security and Risk teams to address audit findings and compliance requirements.
• Support cloud governance initiatives, policy implementation, and cloud security guardrails.

Requirements

• Minimum 7–8 years of experience in cloud architecture and cloud engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, ELB, RDS, EFS, FSx, S3, KMS, Secrets Manager, EventBridge, CloudWatch, and IAM.
• Strong understanding of AWS networking concepts including VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, routing and network security controls.
• Strong experience in container-based deployments, Kubernetes orchestration and container lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting using Python, Ansible, Bash and/or PowerShell.
• Strong experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools such as GitLab, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
• Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, resilient, secure and cost-optimized cloud architectures.
• Good understanding of cloud security practices, including IAM, encryption, secrets management, and access controls.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and performance-tuning capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, architects, management and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, or AWS Security Specialty.
• Experience with AWS AI and Generative AI services such as Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock Agents, AgentCore or related technologies.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud environments, including AWS and OCI.
• Experience working in high-availability, enterprise or regulated environments.
