Job summary

Dell Technologies Singapore is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Global Test Engineering Team to design and develop software for manufacturing diagnostics and related platforms.

You will work across languages like Python, Shell, C/C++, and collaborate with global factories to deliver high-quality solutions on time.

Qualifications

• Validated knowledge of programming languages (Python and Shell scripting, C/C++)
• Familiarity with PC technologies, including Intel x86 architecture, Intel ME, RAID, uEFI, firmware and BIOS
• Ability to code/debug more sophisticated programs using written design specifications
• Capacity to learn new tools, languages and operating systems with training and on-the-job experience
• 5–8 years of related experience

Responsibilities

• Design and develop manufacturing diagnostics software for platforms and peripherals using a range of applicable technologies and state-of-the‑art software engineering methodologies.
• Develop, test, and integrate code for new or existing software; provide sustaining or maintenance support to existing software.
• Prepare written software/storage specifications from architectural diagrams and documents.
• Build and review design, functional, technical and/or user documentation, as needed.
• Develop, review and implement test strategies for products and systems.
• Clearly communicate project issues and status; analyze and prepare trend reports on quality metrics; participate in improving product quality through process and procedure improvements; manage conference calls with global factories.

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based the customer’s business goals, needs and general business environment creating software solutions.

You will:

• Design and develop manufacturing diagnostics software for platforms and peripherals using a range of applicable technologies (e.g. Programming languages, compilers, assemblers and other tools) and state-of-the‑art software engineering methodologies. Deliver products within budget, schedule, and quality guidelines. Develop and support applications, databases, diagnostics, scripts, firmware, drivers, and BIOS utilities.
• Develop, test, and integrate code for new or existing software. Provide sustaining or maintenance support to existing software.
• Prepare written software/storage specifications for sophisticated products from architectural diagrams and documents.
• Build and review design, functional, technical and/or user documentation, as needed.
• Develop, review and implement test strategies for products and systems.
• Clearly communicate project issues and status. Analyse and prepare trend reports on quality metrics. Participate in improving product quality through process and procedure improvements. Manage conference calls with global factories.
