Software QA Test Engineer

Astrata Group is a leading provider of telematics hardware and software systems to governments, airlines and airports and major transportation names and is looking for a software/hardware quality assurance engineer who will be responsible for the creation and maintaining of tests to identify issues with software and hardware before the product launch. Duties include identifying and analysing any bugs and errors found during the test phase and documenting them for review after. Other tasks include developing and running new tests, reporting on the results and collaborating with software developers to fix program issues.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, write and maintain software Test Plans and Test Cases for SaaS platform.
• Execute Test Cases / Test Scripts for Front-End (Application and Web) and Software-Embedded systems (Device Firmware application).
• Manage Quality Assurance for the Software (Front-end) and Firmware for Engineering and Product team in accordance to quality standards.
• Identify, diagnose, track and resolve software bugs and document bug cycle (using JIRA issue and project tracking tool).
• Carry-out regression testing on bug patches and permanent fixes.
• Create test documentation – Test Results, Test/bug Reports and Release Notes
• Create documentation to assist Operations / Tech Support with product installation, configuration and problem diagnosis.

Requirement

• Design, develop, write and execute software Test Plans and Test Cases for:
• Web-based and Android Applications
• Windows Application
• Software-Embedded systems (Device Firmware application).
• System Integration Testing, Functional Testing, Black-Box Testing, Regression Testing, Back-end Testing, User Acceptance Testing
• Has a strong QA mindset up-to-date with current techniques, trends and technologies
• Has basic electronics background.
• Extensive experience in the following Methodologies: Agile / Scrum / Waterfall
• Tools: JIRA
• Advantage: Automation Testing, SQL
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field required
