• Translate functional specifications into application design using established methodologies.
• Translate specifications into program code and follow programming guidelines.
• Develop unit test packages, execute tests and document results to ensure code quality.
• Assist in integration testing, system testing, UAT and implementation activities; fix issues in production.
• Investigate reported problems and implement fixes to ensure smooth system operation.
• Conduct peer reviews to improve project quality.
• Prepare and maintain up-to-date application system documentation.

Job Description

The Software Engineer is responsible to develop software based on design requirements and ensure programs are working to specification, program codes have conformed to standards and are delivered with quality meeting schedule and requirements.

• Gather requirements; work with Business Analysts and Team Lead in reviewing and refining functional specifications, provide efficient and feasible solution.
• Analyse functional requirements to translate into application design using established design methodologies and guidelines.
• Analyse process/program specifications and translate specifications to program codes, conforming to program guidelines and programming best practices.
• Make changes to configurable items, which include hardware, software, documentation, etc. It covers configuration management planning, configuration identification, configuration controls and audits.
• Develop unit test package, execute tests and document test results to ensure the quality of the program.
• Assist in the integration testing, system testing, User Acceptance Test ( UAT) and implementation activities or to fix the reported problems/bugs of the system to ensure the smooth execution of programs in the production environment.
• Investigate all reported problems/errors and initiate amendments and testing so that the system can operate correctly and efficiently.
• Conduct peer reviews to improve project quality.
• Prepare and maintain up-to-date application system documentation.
