Job summary

SECOND TALENT SG PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop and test C# applications for automated semiconductor equipment. You will implement PLC logic in Structured Text and build real-time I/O libraries while collaborating with RTOS and embedded Linux teams.

You will travel to customer sites for on-site installations and acceptance testing, mentor junior engineers, and align software with ISO standards. A hands-on, result-driven mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics or related field.
• 3–6 years in industrial software development for machine control or automated systems.
• Strong C# and .NET, including multithreaded design.
• PLC programming in Structured Text (IEC 61131-3).
• Experience with EtherCAT or Modbus communication protocols.
• Hands-on with RTOS or embedded Linux.
• Willing to travel frequently and undertake extended on-site assignments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test C# (.NET) applications and operator interfaces for automated semiconductor equipment
• Develop PLC logic in Structured Text (IEC 61131-3) for machine sequencing and motion control
• Write real-time hardware I/O libraries and analyse feedback from sensors and actuators
• Build and debug multithreaded applications across Windows, RTOS and embedded Linux
• Validate code on physical prototypes in the lab to ensure correct machine behavior
• Manage software revisions, bug fixes, version control and ISO-compliant documentation
• Provide on-site support for customer installations and acceptance testing, including assignments up to months
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams

Our client is a Singapore-based semiconductor equipment company that designs and builds wafer handling, metrology/inspection and thin-film coating systems for chipmakers worldwide. You'll join an engineering team that takes high-precision automated machines from concept through to on-site installation at customer fabs.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop and test C# (.NET) applications and operator interfaces for automated semiconductor equipment
• Develop PLC logic in Structured Text (IEC 61131-3) for machine sequencing and motion control
