Job summary

NCS is a leading AI Tech Services company in Asia Pacific, seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to enterprise-grade government and client projects. You will be embedded on-site at the client’s site, collaborating with analysts, developers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software.

You will design, develop, and maintain Java applications, translate requirements into designs, participate in integration discussions, and stay current with AI tools to improve productivity.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in CS, CE, IT or equivalent.
• 1–4 years of Java-based application software development or fresh graduate with willingness to learn Java and related enterprise technologies.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Willing to work on-site and collaborate directly with clients and team members.
• Demonstrated interest and hands-on experience with AI solutions in professional environments.
• Ability to identify and explore AI use cases relevant to software development or business problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain application modules using Java and enterprise-grade technologies.

WHATYOU WILLDO

CoreResponsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain application modules using Javaandor enterprise-grade technologies, following industry best practices and security standards.

Translate requirements into technical designs and program specifications.

Collaborate closely with system analysts, developers, testers, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions.

Participate in system integration and technical discussions to ensure seamless end-to-end solutions

Quality & Support

Support testing activities including systemintegrationtesting and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Investigate and resolve bugs, defects, and production issues efficiently.

Enhance and maintain systems across development and post-implementation phases.

Prepare documentation and project artifacts to support delivery and governance requirements.

Stay current by participating in up-skilling workshops and training as needed.

Adapt and grow with changing technologies, requirements, and priorities.

Leverage AI technologies and tools to enhance productivity, code quality, and problem-solving capabilities.

Due to security clearance requirements for government-linked projects, this position is open to Singapore Citizens only.

Qualifications

Singapore Citizen

Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.

1-4 years in application software development using Java technologiesor fresh graduate withstrong willingness and commitment to learn Javaand relatedenterprisetechnologies.

Proficient in written and spoken English.

Proactive and results-driven with strong commitment to quality.

Eager learner who actively seeks to develop new technical skills (especially important for fresh graduates).

Comfortable working fully on-site and collaborating directly with clients and team members.

Demonstrated interest and hands-on experience with AI solutionsin professional environments.(e.g.,internships, side projects during employment)

Ability to identify and explore AI use cases relevant to software development or business problems.

What Makes You Stand Out

Experienceworking in teams onenterprise-gradegovernment systemswill be a bonus.

Experience working withlow-code platforms like OutSystems and/or ServiceNowwill be a bonus.

Knowledge ofAgile principles and methodologies.

Working knowledge of REST APIs (design, development, and integration).

Working knowledge ofSQL and database(queries, data modelling, and optimization).

Professional Certifications(advantageous but notmandatory)

Technical certifications related to Java or software development

Agilecertifications (e.g,Professional Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Master, SAFe)

ITIL Foundation or basic IT service management knowledge

AI/ML-related courses or certifications.
