Job summary

NCS Group in Singapore is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer (Java) to design, build, test and maintain end-to-end applications across frontend and backend technologies. You will work on resource augmentation projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams at various client sites to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements and technical standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in developing and delivering application software.
• Proficient in Java and at least one frontend framework (TypeScript, React or Angular).
• Proficient in written and spoken English; experience with enterprise or government systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyse functional and technical requirements and translate them into application design and program specifications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain application modules and components in accordance with standards.
• Ensure code complies with security guidelines and best practices.
• Investigate errors and perform debugging for reliable operation.
• Participate in system integration activities and technical discussions for end-to-end alignment.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, testers, and stakeholders to support delivery; assist in testing (including UAT).

As a Full Stack Software Engineer (Java), you will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining end-to-end application solutions across both frontend and backend technologies. You will work on resource augmentation projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams at various client sites across Singapore to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements and technical standards.

What will you do?

• Analyse functional and technical requirements and translate them into application design and program specifications
• Design, develop, test, enhance, and maintain application modules and components in accordance with established standards and guidelines
• Ensure codes comply with security guidelines and best practices
• Investigate errors and initiate amendments and testing for correct and efficient system operation
• Participate in system integration activities and technical discussions to ensure end-to-end solution alignment
• Collaborate with system analysts, developers, testers, and other stakeholders to support project delivery activities
• Support system testing activities, including system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT)

Documentation & Quality Assurance

• Prepare and maintain project and system documentation, reports, and artefacts required for delivery and governance
• Fix reported problems or bugs to ensure smooth execution in production
• Participate in up-skilling workshops and courses as required by the Project Manager

The ideal candidate should possess:

Technical Skills (Mandatory)

• Backend: Strong proficiency in Java (must-have)
• Frontend: Proficiency in at least one of the following frameworks:
• TypeScript
• React
• Angular
• Full Stack Experience: Demonstrated end-to-end development experience covering both frontend and backend

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in developing and delivering application software
• Proven track record of working on enterprise or government systems environments (preferred)
• Proficient in written and spoken English

Good-to-Have Skills

• AI expertise (advantageous but not mandatory)
• Additional backend technologies beyond Java
• Relevant technical certifications
• Agile-related certifications
• ITIL Foundation (basic understanding of IT service management)
