Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III to join a fast-paced agile team in Singapore, delivering trusted market-leading technology products with secure, scalable production code.

You will create and optimize front-end solutions using React/JavaScript/TypeScript, collaborate on architecture artifacts, and lead UI development while embracing modern UX patterns and data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years of front-end development with React.
• Strong HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and D3 experience.
• Proficient in DOM manipulation and modern JavaScript patterns.
• Deep understanding of React, core principles, and Redux workflows.
• Experience creating responsive designs and modern UX patterns.
• Experience with Babel, Webpack, and NPM.
• Experience with Jest/Mocha/Jasmine and automated build/test tooling.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Excellent communication and ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment.
• Knowledge of cloud/AI/ML/mobile tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Creates secure and high‑quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• Provide technical leadership in the area of UI development.
• Contribute and collaborate in creation and consumption of open, standards‑based solutions.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Formal training or certification on engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience in front-end development with React
• Strong hands‑on background in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, NPM, React, and D3
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
• Thorough understanding of React and its core principles; experience with Redux workflows
• Hands‑on experience creating responsive designs and implementing modern UX patterns
• Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, and NPM
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest/Mocha/Jasmine and automated build/test tooling (e.g., Jenkins)
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI/ML, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies - Module Federation, Single SPA
• Exposure to cloud technologies - AWS, Cloud Foundry
