Job summary

GovTech Singapore is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join GovEntry, a self-serve event management system used by WOG Agencies to handle sign-ups, access validation, item distribution and gamification. We value fast, reliable, and secure delivery in a public-sector setting.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to build services for the public sector, participate in Agile ceremonies, and develop secure, high-performance APIs for mobile apps, web portals and partner

Qualifications

• Experience as a full-stack developer with Go and JavaScript.
• Strong foundation in software architecture and design patterns.
• Emphasis on testing across the stack: unit, integration, and E2E.
• Experience with containers or AWS is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to create services for the public sector.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as Planning, Review and Retrospective.
• Develop front-end and back-end solutions focusing on the distribution of physical and virtual goods.
• Iterate with teammates to craft elegant, maintainable solutions.
• Deliver high-quality, secure, maintainable and testable code across the stack.
• Build and maintain high-performance APIs for mobile apps, portals and partner services.
• Provide L2/L3 support and monitor deployed services.
• Be an independent and impactful contributor to the team.

The GovEntry team is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer who loves challenging the status-quo, seeking streamlined solutions and solving problems to improve people's lives. Join us if you want to work in an open, learning and fast paced environment while contributing to the public good.

[What you will be working on]

GovEntry is a self-serve event management system to help WOG Agencies with event sign-ups, access validation, item distribution and gamification. We bring value by being fast, reliable and hassle-free. To date, we supported more than 6,000 events across hundreds of public agencies and schools.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of developers and designers to create services for the public sector
• Participate in various Agile ceremonies, such as Planning, Review and Retrospective
• Work across the frontend and backend to develop solutions that focus on the distribution of physical and virtual goods
• Iterate and collaborate closely with other team members to craft elegant solutions
• Deliver high-quality, secure, maintainable and testable code
• Be an independent and impactful contributor to the team
• Build and maintain high performance and secure APIs accessible through mobile applications, web portals and partner services
• Develop user experiences for citizens, partners and members of the team
• Maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines to bring value to our users iteratively
• Monitor the health of deployed services and provide L2 and L3 support when disruptions occur.

• You have a strong foundation in software architecture and design patterns
• You place a keen emphasis on testing across the entire stack — unit, integration and E2E (end to end)
• You are an experienced full-stack developer with a strong focus on Go, and also proficient in JavaScript.
• You can communicate and work with stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) and lead tracks when required
• You have good communication skills
• You have experience with containers or AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a bonus.
